Book Blurb

It's 2034. In 2029, the D Plague struck and killed half the world’s population. Those who contracted the virus faced certain death and the disintegration of their bodies afterwards into dust. Unbeknownst to all but a handful of people left on Earth, one man contracted the D Plague and lived. His name is Aric Rodrigue.

Aric may be a living miracle, but he's haunted by survivor's guilt. His entire family gone, he gave up his dream of attending medical school in order to take over his parents' pharmaceutical company. He knows he’s doing good work but feels as though he can’t escape his depression and loneliness. Then, Aric meets Chelsea Capra, a sweet, beautiful computer genius who suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2033. She remembers nothing of her previous life. The couple falls in love, but the issues surrounding their pasts and clouding their future remain.

Aric and Chelsea come to the conclusion that their pasts are somehow linked. They become suspicious of CDC employees and the FBI agents who are supposedly protecting them. Chelsea's inquisitive nature may get them killed or save their lives. Aric combines his resources, connections, and drive in his efforts to save them, but he wonders whether or not he’s been betrayed by his closest friend and former lover, the first female President of the United States.

excerpt

After a while, Chelsea asked if she could touch more of Aric’s skin. He nodded, unbuttoned his shirt, and removed it, tossing it onto the chair where his jacket and tie already rested. Aric was highly aroused, and her scrutiny of his bare flesh was weakening his resolve not to make love to her.

She swallowed hard, stepped forward, and skimmed her fingers over his exposed flesh. Aric groaned, as she slipped her arms around his waist and rested her head against his chest. He felt his back press against one wall.

“This feels so right,” she murmured. “It makes me feel safe.”

He wrapped his arms around her and stroked her hair. She sighed with contentment. Then she stepped away from him and resumed her study of the top half of his body.

“You don’t have hair on your chest, but you have a line of hair that runs from your belly button downward. Eve Rose told me when men have hair like that it’s called a Happy Trail, because if you follow it then it leads to something that gives you happiness.”

Aric wasn’t sure if he should laugh out loud or express his surprise at the young Haitian woman’s knowledge of such things. He doubted Fredeline would approve of her granddaughter’s remarks and wondered if Eve Rose had received the annual birth control shot. He was going to talk to Chelsea about this, but he never got the chance.

“What the –?”

Chelsea quickly unzipped his fly then yanked down his boxers. She took the head of his erection in her mouth as if she’d done it on a daily basis for years. Not wanting her neighbors to hear, Aric gritted his teeth in order to avoid crying out as she slowly took him in all the way. Marveling at her lack of a gag reflex, he slipped his fingers into her hair. It was evident that she’d done this before and had done it well. It felt like she wanted to suck him dry, and he never wanted it to end.

Chelsea made little noises of satisfaction as she drew on him. He saw how much pleasure she was getting out of what she was doing. When she grazed the skin of his veined shaft with her teeth, he came hard, his body jerking when he started to release. A groan escaped him, as he spilled into her. She drank him in as if she couldn’t bear to break their connection. When he was finished, she finally pulled away from him and looked up at his face from where she was kneeling on the floor.

“That was so wonderful,” Chelsea said quietly. “Didn’t you think so?”

“It was better than wonderful,” he told her. “I’ve never had anybody do it with such…passion before. You were phenomenal.”

“You tasted so good,” she told him seriously. “I liked it.”

He grinned down at her and said, “Me, too.”

As she got to her feet, she asked, “Can we have sex now?”

He refrained from explaining to her that they’d just had sex. He knew what she meant. This was not the time for a semantics lesson.

MAJOR MISCONDUCT
Aces Hockey #1
Kelly Jamieson
Releasing Oct 13th, 2015
Loveswept

In Kelly Jamieson’s seductive new Chicago Aces romance—perfect for readers of Sawyer Bennett and Toni Aleo—a fun-loving free spirit tempts an uptight hockey star into opening himself up to love.

As the captain of the Chicago Aces, Marc Dupuis is all business. The apartment he shares with his teammate and best friend, Duncan, is a refuge from the pressures of fame. But when the sexiest woman he’s ever seen interrupts his early morning coffee wearing only a skimpy cami and matching panties, Marc can’t exactly say he minds. Their chemistry is off the charts. Unfortunately, this girl’s no random puck bunny. She’s Duncan’s little sister—and she’s moving in.

Lovey Armstrong could stare at Marc’s chiseled abs and listen to his French-Canadian accent all day. She just has no idea what’s going on inside his head: When he’s not charming her pants off, Marc makes a Zamboni machine seem warm and cuddly. Lovey knows the team’s bro code says no messing with sisters, but all these mixed messages are hard on a girl’s self-esteem—especially since she’s finally getting her new life together in Chicago. She decides he’s worth another shot . . . because if anyone can melt the ice around Marc’s heart, it’s Lovey.

Marc chuckled all the way to the Land Rover dealership, annoying the hell out of his teammate and roommate.

“What the fuck is so amusing?” Army snarled.

“If she wasn’t your sister, I’d call you pussy-whipped.”

“Fuck off.”

Marc laughed outright. “Just never seen you so outclassed, dude.”

“Whatever.”

Marc smirked.

“What am I supposed to do?” Army demanded. “Turn her out onto the streets of Chicago?”
“Of course not. And she knew that.”

“She didn’t even tell me she was coming.” Duncan rubbed his forehead. “Christ. She quit her job. Just when she seemed to be settling down. Last I heard, she had a pretty serious boyfriend too. Guess that’s over.”

A boyfriend? Not fucking likely, the way she’d been looking at him. Marc shot Army a sideways glance as he drove. “She does this often?”

“Eh. She quits. She gets fired. She flits from one job to another like a fucking hummingbird. One boyfriend to another. This guy she was seeing actually lasted more than a few dates. Now all of a sudden she wants to move to Chicago. Jesus.”

“She’s young.”

“She’s not that young. She’s twenty-four. Only three years younger than us. She needs to settle down.”

Marc nodded. “Yeah, but think, man, we were on our own when we were teenagers, basically. We were playing and living in an adult world before we could even drink legally. Pro hockey makes you grow up fast.”

Army sighed. “Yeah. True. Heh. Especially you, Captain Codger.”

Marc rolled his eyes at the nickname. It didn’t bug him as much as it had at first. He knew the guys liked to jerk him around, but they did it with respect. And he’d earned the reputation of being serious and responsible, on the ice and off. That was him, and it was important to him to take his career and his responsibilities seriously.

Army shook his head. “I’ll let her stay for a while, but seriously, she’ll have to find her own place. Don’t worry.”

Marc shrugged. “I wasn’t worried.”

That wasn’t entirely true. Army’s little sister was smokin’ hot. At first Marc had thought his roommate had a hot chick visiting him and he’d been all Whoa, way to go, dude, but when he’d learned she was Army’s sister, he’d backpedaled fast. He couldn’t get out of there before she’d jumped up and rushed at him with a fucking dazzling smile, so goddamn gorgeous he couldn’t get his feet to move and could barely string two words together. Her smile was luminous, all white teeth and dimples and glowing face. Long, wavy red-gold hair gleamed in the sunlight and, fuck him, even though she’d been wearing clothes that covered her from chin to toes, her body was stellar—a soft blue sweater outlined high, firm tits and a small waist that curved into round hips. He couldn’t see her legs, but they were long, her snug black pants revealing slender thighs.

Shut it down, man.

She was Army’s sister and therefore waaaay the fuck off-limits.

And that was why he was maybe a little worried about her living with them. Just a smidgen worried. But hey. He was Captain Codger. He had no issues with self-control, self-discipline, or being responsible. He could easily ignore a hot babe living in the apartment with them.

No problem. No problem at all.

Army’s phone pinged and he peered at the screen. “Great. An email from my mom warning me Lovey’s on her way. Thanks, Mom.” He shook his head as he tapped a reply. “She wants me to make sure Lovey’s okay in the big city. Jesus.”

Yeah, Lovey seemed like she was going to be okay.

They arrived at the dealership and while Army signed the paperwork, Marc wandered around looking at the vehicles, trying to ignore the attention from the staff, male and female. The receptionist approached him for an autograph.

“You’re my favorite player.” She let out a breathy laugh. “I watch all the games.”

“Yeah?” He obliged by scrawling his messy signature across the Land Rover pamphlet she held out, adding his jersey number beneath it. “You watch that last game against Philly?”

“Of course! You guys played great.”

He stuck his tongue into one cheek and nodded. “Thanks.” They’d sucked. They’d lost three-one, probably their worst game so far, another game added to their losing streak.

“D’you speak French?” Her eyes widened.

“Mais oui.” He grinned.

“That is soooo sexy.” She stared at him.

Câlisse. He resisted the urge to sigh and smiled instead. “Merci.”

“I love your accent.”

He wanted to frown. He barely had an accent. He’d been raised by a Francophone mother and Anglophone father, and although his education had been all in French growing up in Quebec, he spoke both languages fluently. Maybe there was a bit of an accent. Whatever.

“Hey, Armdog,” he called to his friend. “I’m gonna head out. Meet you at the Sin Bin?”

“Yeah. Be there soon.”

- EXCERPT -

A couple of minutes later he found himself standing outside the little book shop, peering through the window.

His breath caught when he spotted her sitting behind the counter, curled over a book, a strand of her long chestnut hair between her fingers as she twirled it absentmindedly.

She was as beautiful as he had remembered, maybe even more.

He watched her closely as she flicked the page. He wondered what she was reading.

Suddenly she ran the tip of her tongue across her bottom lip. It was probably the most erotic thing Mason had ever seen.

His cock immediately hardened as he thought of her lips on him. He wondered what it would be like to kiss her.

Jesus, snap the fuck out of it Mace, he groaned to himself. You are even starting to think like a chick.

A customer in the shop walked up to the counter and Amelia looked up and smiled at them, a genuine, real smile. She listened to whatever the person was saying and then laughed. She stood up and led the customer to a shelf. Reaching up, she took a book down and handed it to the woman. She waited while the woman flicked through it and then looked up and smiled. Amelia smiled back once again, then turned and returned to her seat behind the counter. She was a genuine, good person.

And I would destroy her, Mason thought bitterly. He knew she didn’t belong in his world. She deserved someone nice, who could be the man she needed.

With one last look, he turned and headed back to his office. He needed to let her go. They could never happen.

I should stick to blonde horny waitresses, he thought as he walked quickly back to his office. Vapid girls that had no class and very little brains. Unlike Ms. Wells, who was a class above the rest.

At the front of the room, he had a huge round hydroponics system whirring in the corner that fascinated me. I stopped at the side of the setup on my way to my desk and leaned down to poke at a lettuce leaf.

Mr. Darcy appeared over my shoulder. “We’ll be using this all year. It’s a fantastic system. We should be able to help provide salad greens for the cafeteria for a few weeks. Are you interested in gardening, Caroline?”

I nodded, but he didn’t give me half a chance to say anything.

“Of course you are, with your parents being dryads and all. You probably get bored with all this.”

I shook my head. “I’ve got no supernatural talents, Mr. Darcy. I like gardening–no magic involved.”

His brow rose. “I’d heard a rumor, but I assumed it wasn’t true.”

People around me were starting to whisper as I talked to him. The boys were making jokes.
The girls looked jealous. “It is.”

He smiled, and a girl behind me sighed. “You’ll get along fine then. I myself have only a minor ability to predict rain and make some charms. Not much at all. Magic isn’t everything.”
I smiled and took my seat as the bell rang. One of the boys next to me mumbled something about having a brown nose. A tingle started at the end of my nose, and I jerked a mirror from my bag.

Yup. Brown smudges marred my nose. I glared at him, and prayed they’d fade before too long. Otherwise I’d have to visit the nurse and get the charm removed before next period.

Excerpt

“What was that thought?” she asks curiously.

I lift my eyes from her hand resting on the black leather seat between us to her face to see a sly smile has appeared on her lips. “What thought?”

“The one that just had dirty written all over it.” Her smile grows wide, her eyes glittering with heat and a touch of amusement at the position she’s cornered me into.

“It’s a thought that would be more suited to the end of the date, if we are following your predetermined description of a how a first date should be, that is.”

Heat overtakes amusement as the air inside the car crackles with the right type of tension, the exact type of mood I have been hoping for and dreading. Our eyes remained locked, like neither one of us is able or willing to look away from the other.

Knowing I’d need to acquiesce, I look back down to where her hand rests beside her leg and bite the bullet, reaching over and lacing my fingers with hers.

“See?” she says as I catch her smile out of the corner of my eye. “Wasn’t that hard, was it?”

“It’s like that, is it?” I say, my voice filled with humor. She leans over, turning her body toward mine and rests her mouth against my jaw, just below my ear.

“If you want something from me, Callum, you just need to ask for it or take it. I highly doubt any of the thoughts running through that very handsome, highly intelligent head of yours could put me off.” Her breath warms my skin, sending the nerve endings into overdrive. “You’re welcome to try though . . .”

Before I can attempt to put my public mask in place, I tilt my head until we are cheek to cheek. Presented with an opportunity, I follow my instincts and graze my teeth slowly against her ear lobe. “I was thinking how your hand would feel touching me again . . .”

Her breath stutters momentarily, before quickening. She pulls back, leaning her shoulder into the seat but not returning to her side. “I’m sure we can arrange to hold hands again, Callum. It’s all part of getting to know each other.”

I mimic her pose, our bodies still close but not touching, as I let out an uncharacteristic chuckle. “You’re trouble with a capital T.”

“And I’m thinking, Mr. Alexander, there’s something about my brand of trouble that you’re drawn to.”

Puffing on his Cuban cigar, the Senator reclined in his chair, a tumbler of scotch on the rocks in front of him. He stared down the two men sitting on the other side of his desk, daring them to repeat the words that had just been uttered.

Sweating profusely, FBI Agent Seymour Fink tugged on his tie, his Adam’s apple bobbing above the buttoned collar of his shirt.

For a moment, the Senator considered retrieving his gun from his desk drawer and shooting the agent in the head, but he couldn’t risk getting blood or splatters of brain matter on his tuxedo. After all, he had an important dinner to attend in an hour and didn’t want to disappoint his wife.

He downed the rest of his drink and then shook the ice in the glass the way he’d like to shake the mobster who was fucking with him. “Tell me what you’re going to do to fix the problem,” he said calmly, unwilling to allow this minor bump in the road to waylay his plans.
There were only a few problems in the world money couldn’t solve, and this was not one of them. His men were loyal to him because he paid them to be loyal. They believed in his cause because he paid them to believe in his cause. The whole goddamned US of A was manipulated by money, making it possible for great men like him to become even wealthier.
But he was different because unlike most men, he cared more for this country than he did money.

“Do, sir?” Using the sleeve of his suit jacket, Agent Fink wiped the sweat from his brow, cigar smoke circling around his head like a boa constrictor. “I’m not certain we should do—”

“You listen to me, you little prick. There is nothing that will stand in my way.” The Senator hurled his tumbler against the wall above the fireplace, shattering the glass into a million tiny pieces. “Do you understand me? I’ve got your balls in a vise underneath my blade, so let’s try this again. What are you going to do to fix the problem?”

These agents had been instrumental in helping him to get the charges against Anthony Rinaldi dropped in exchange for the mobster’s valuable foreign contacts. A few months ago, the FBI had arrested Rinaldi for the extortion and kidnapping of Danielle Walker and, in the process, had discovered the bodies of thirteen young women buried on his property. But thanks to Agent Richard Evans and Fink, vital evidence had disappeared from the FBI’s possession, helping the judge in the case, a man all too easy to blackmail due to his expensive cocaine habit, to render his decision in dropping the charges. In exchange, Rinaldi had brokered a deal with a Congo mafia leader, and an item found exclusively in the Congo region was about to arrive in the United States. Now that the ship had sailed and all the components were successfully in place, Rinaldi’s usefulness had come to an end.

Seymour swallowed convulsively. “No one was supposed to get hurt.”

“Don’t pull that bullshit now. You knew when I approached you that lives would be lost for the greater good,” the Senator said. He handed off his cigar and nodded to the other agent, a bruiser of a man whom he’d chosen not only for his twenty years of service to this country but for his lack of empathy. Agent Richard Evans understood the risks involved in his job, the three bullets he’d taken in the chest a testament to that fact.

Evans pinched the fat cigar between his fingers and, in a flash, locked his partner’s head
under his arm, pinning Fink’s hands to the table and singeing the top of one with the foot of the cigar. Fink screamed, his smaller body thrashing wildly as he fruitlessly tried to escape from his partner and the pain he was inflicting.

The acrid scent of burnt flesh overpowered the cigar’s sweet one, a smell he would forever more attribute to power.

By the time Evans released him, Fink’s skin had turned pasty white, his shirt completely drenched from his sweat. He breathed heavily, nodding. “Consider the problem solved, sir. By this time tomorrow night, Rinaldi will be dead.”

The Senator leaned back in his chair and smiled.

God bless the USA.
